Who knows the most intimate details about you?
Once upon a time - it was your quill, your writing-desk, or perhaps a bedside diary.
Later - perhaps your flip phone or personal desktop computer held texts and personal documents.
But in the age of "digital spaces", large tech companies have found it passively profitable to become the carriers of social connection — and from controlling access, owning our data, and renting it back to us.
In the future - will your agent be the default entryway into digital interaction? Are you already beginning to load your second brain into a corporate data center somewhere?
Tonight is a night to take a step away from that default future. We'll take the time to do any of the following:
- Build something useful for you or others that takes advantage of liberated data - local, transformable, personal data that's not fragmented across other apps. - Build something that makes it easier or more appealing for you and others to rehome their data. - Export your own personal data out of the cloud, and build workflows for yourself that make that habit stick. I'll share a couple projects from Imbue that can help you get started. No technical background required!
