Why Cyberdecks?
In the age of abundant information, a new generation of makers are redefining the status quo of tech: personal, DIY-ed, and with the goal to understand, not merely consume.
Cyberdecks have emerged as a manifestation of this shift: as custom-built, portable personal computers, they are designed to reflect the personality of its creator and as a form of self-expression.
But even with the help of online resources, hardware is ... hard. Cyberdeck Summer aims to help people overcome that first learning hump, while building a community of makers, engineers, and creatives.
What will you learn?
- How to build a Raspberry Pi + color display system from scratch. - The basics of hardware electronics, including breadboarding, basic circuit design, and microcontrollers. - Introduction to coding for hardware using MicroPython. All experience levels are welcome. We'll start from the very beginning, and you'll have help each step of the way.
Plus: free matcha to keep your brain juices flowing.
Tickets
$200 includes 3h of instruction, all the materials and tools, your finished cyberdeck to take home, matcha, and exclusive access to our builders' community server.
