About this event
What if your water bottle had opinions? What if your sketchbook could critique your art?
Audio Lab is a hands-on experiment in giving everyday things a voice. After a short talk on how technology is reshaping our relationships with the objects around us, you’ll wander through several installations, some familiar, some unexpected, each with its own voice and personality.
We’ll learn how objects have been personified in media, popular culture, and the tech of the past and present. Attendees will interact with each installation and ponder what would happen if the encouraging one turned sarcastic? What if it sounded like your uncle? Remix the personas, test your reactions, and help imagine what this new era of talking things could, or should, feel like.
This workshop is for the curious minds who are willing to talk to things that usually stay quiet.
